Jack Wilshere Set to Ignore Foreign Interest in January, Targets Arsenal Stay
Jack Wilshere is reportedly set to pay no attention to interest from foreign clubs in January, as he hopes to sign a new deal at Arsenal and eventually become a legend at the Emirates Stadium.
According to the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel, despite interest from Marseille and a number of other teams outside England—who can reach a pre-contract agreement with him this month as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season—Wilshere is focused only on playing for the Gunners.
The midfielder still hopes to write his name into the north London outfit's history, a view shared by many inside the club, and he would also prefer not to uproot his family, particularly with his third child expected this year.

Arsenal are yet to formally offer him a new deal and are said to be unlikely to give him terms on par with his current wages of £90,000 per week, with a "heavily incentivised" offer set to challenge Wilshere to maintain both form and fitness.
The 26-year-old has been steadily reintroduced to the team this season after breaking his leg in April while on loan with Bournemouth, and he has now played 90 minutes in each of the Gunners' last six Premier League outings, which is particularly impressive amid the packed festive schedule.
Though he was perhaps fortunate to still be on the pitch, Wilshere netted a fine goal in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday, earning praise from Oliver Holt of the Mail on Sunday:
His return to form has also sparked debate as to whether he should be selected for the England national team again, with the Daily Mail's Ian Ladyman and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville discussing the issue:
When fit, Wilshere is one of the most talented midfielders available to the Three Lions, and if he avoids injuries for the remainder of the season he's likely to earn a place in the World Cup squad.
He's also shown in recent weeks he's capable of holding down a place in Arsenal's starting XI, and the Gunners will benefit if he can sustain that for the long term.
It seems likely he'll be rewarded with a new contract in the near future, but an incentivised deal is a shrewd move for the club if his fitness issues resurface.
