Alvin Kamara posted a photo of a fine letter sent by the NFL for wearing cleats resembling Christmas stockings during Week 16's win over the Atlanta Falcons.
After wearing the holiday-themed sneakers on Christmas Eve, the rookie running back told reporters, per the Times-Picayune's Josh Katzenstein, that he expected to pay for violating the league's uniform guidelines.

"Kamara on wearing the cleats: "Yeah it was worth it. We were just talking about the NFL not being a Grinch. We need them to just leave us alone."

Kamara did not disclose the fine's amount. According to NFL rules, via USA Today's Scott Gleeson, a first-time offender is charged $6,076 for an equipment infraction.
New Orleans’ breakout star again mentioned his plan to create a GoFundMe page, though he could just be making light of a seemingly ridiculous situation. The 22-year-old is not yet as rich as his Pro Bowl peers. Per Spotrac, the third-round pick is earning $708,193 this season.
After Kamara 1,426 total yards and 12 touchdowns, plenty of grateful fantasy-football champions might be willing to offer some of their winnings.
