When Will John Cena, Triple H and Legends Return to Ring After Survivor Series?
As is often the case at one of WWE's big pay-per-views, Survivor Series 2017 featured a plethora of the company's part-time stars making returns to action.
Perhaps predictably, some of those comebacks went well, while others were a crushing disappointment.
With the busiest time of the year for WWE fans just around the corner, though, it's surely not going to be long until they strap up the boots again.
Some may even wrestle once more before 2017 draws to a close.
Here's a look at when the likes of John Cena, Triple H and other part-timers are likely to wrestle again following Survivor Series.
Kurt Angle
1 of 4Given that, in comparison with the other part-time guys WWE has, Kurt Angle has been extremely active of late, this list begins with a man who could fight again sooner than fans think.
Angle has wrestled two pay-per-view shows in a row, one as part of The Shield, before captaining Raw at Survivor Series.
It's clear that, following the events of Sunday night, the Raw general manager will fight Triple H at some point. However, that's a match WWE should hold off on until the new year, or perhaps even WrestleMania.
And to keep Angle—who still has a fraction of ring rust—as active and dynamic as possible, WWE should consider having him work more matches.
Perhaps a turn from his son, Jason Jordan, will lead to more attacks from Angle and more in-ring matches for the 1996 Olympic gold medalist.
It's possible Angle could wrestle again before the year is out.
Brock Lesnar
2 of 4Brock Lesnar's performance at Survivor Series was one of the best of the night, as he and AJ Styles pushed each other to their limits.
That alone should no doubt leave fans keen to see the man who holds the Universal Championship in action again sooner, rather than later.
However, there's not much chance of Lesnar stepping inside the squared circle again before the year is out.
There's only one show left for 2017, and that's the SmackDown-exclusive Clash of Champions. That only leaves Raw events available for The Beast Incarnate to fight at, and recent history shows that won't be happening.
So there's only one option for his next match: next year's Royal Rumble. His opponent? Right now, that looks up in the air, too.
Triple H
3 of 4With Triple H, you can never be quite sure when he will next wrestle.
His recent appearances at house shows, including a bizarre evening on the European tour when he joined The Shield, mean his future is much more tricky to predict.
It's clear there are potential matches against Braun Strowman, Kurt Angle and maybe even Jason Jordan in the offing.
WWE has plenty of options when it comes to what's next for its chief operating officer. Realistically, though, fans surely can't expect to see The Game wrestle again before next year's Royal Rumble.
Sunday's main event showed there is still a tendency to be too reliable on part-time guys, meaning full-timers suffer.
There's no issue with having Triple H wrestle the odd big show here and there, but if he's working a rivalry with Angle, for example, WWE has to hold off having him wrestle again for a few months.
John Cena
4 of 4John Cena's cameo appearance in the Survivor Series main event was one of the stranger booking decisions of the night.
Hyped as a big deal when he became the fifth member of SmackDown's team for the main event, Cena did little in the way of anything noteworthy.
He had a couple of quick spots but was eliminated in pretty unspectacular fashion by Angle midway through the bout.
And that should mean he returns to WWE sooner than the other part-timers featured on this list.
Cena is far more active in terms of in-ring time and relevancy than stars such as Triple H and Angle. WWE should look to correct the disappointment of his booking on Sunday by getting him back in the ring before the year is out.
Have Cena start working toward a feud for the Royal Rumble by getting back in the ring in December.
