Andre Iguodala Leaves Game vs. Bucks After Knee Injury Diagnosed as Soreness
Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala exited Thursday's home game against the Milwaukee Bucks with left knee soreness, the team announced.
This is another setback for Iguodala after a back injury caused him to miss the start of the season.
While Iguodala isn't the scorer for Golden State he was during his prime with the Philadelphia 76ers, he has been a critical part of two championship teams because of his ability to impact the game on the defensive side and lead the second unit.
He is a two-time member of an All-Defensive team and won the 2015 NBA Finals MVP in part because of his ability to guard the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James. He's averaging 6.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game this season as the Warriors strive to defend their title.
Golden State would generally be better equipped than any team to deal with a loss of a player the caliber of Iguodala, but they were already without Klay Thompson (thumb) and Stephen Curry (sprained MCL) against the Bucks. Taking Iguodala out of the equation puts Golden State's depth to the test.
