Zack Greinke To Brewers: Will It Happen?

Boris YovchevOct 17, 2009

I heard rumors today that the Milwaukee Brewers have reached an agreement with the Kansas City Royals to acquire the rights of Zack Greinke and unknown minor leaguers for the rights of JJ Hardy, Manny Parra, Mat Gamel, and Angel Salome.

I looked at every Brewers news source I could think of, but there are no official news or rumors related to this move.

If the trade indeed proves to be more than a speculation here are the numbers for each player for the 2009 season in their respective league.

I am interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on this rumored trade. I was in the midst of writing a column about trades when I received the news that this trade could already have been finalized. ย
I imagine that Greinke would change the complexity of the entire off-season. I also imagine that there will be very high expectations for the 2010 season with Greinke and Gallardo on the mound and Braun and Fielder at the plate.
It remains to be seen whether the rumors are really true...
