Jeremy Maclin to Receive MRI on Knee Injury Suffered During Win vs. Browns

Joseph ZuckerDec 17, 2017

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jeremy Maclin suffered a knee injury in the first half against Cleveland Browns and would not return.

After the game, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the injury didn't look serious, but they won't know for sure until after an MRI, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.

He had one catch for 22 yards before heading into the locker room.

Maclin signed with the Ravens in June shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs released him.

The Chiefs cut ties with Maclin after he endured a disappointing 2016 season. Limited to 12 games, he caught 44 passes for 536 yards and two touchdowns, all of which were career lows.

The 2017 season hasn't exactly gone according to plan for Maclin, either. He had 40 receptions for 440 yards and three touchdowns through 12 games, and he entered the NFL's concussion protocol following Baltimore's Week 3 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Losing Maclin again is a tough blow for Baltimore. Breshad Perriman has yet to fulfill the potential that made him a 2015 first-round pick, and Mike Wallace is a better secondary receiver rather than a No. 1 target.

The Ravens have already experienced plenty of problems with their passing game, and Maclin's injury will compound matters.
