Henrik Stenson's Rental House Burgled During 2017 British Open
The rental home of reigning British Open champion Henrik Stenson was burglarized Thursday while he played the first round of the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England.
On Friday, BBC Sport passed along comments from Stenson, who confirmed some valuable items were stolen along with his entire set of clothes.
"I am extremely grateful my family were not in the house," he said. "I am going to try not to let this spoil the week in any way."

Cavs May Make Major Changes
The 41-year-old Swedish star noted the Claret Jug, which he won with a tournament-record 20-under performance last year at Royal Troon Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland, was given back to the R&A on Monday ahead of his title defense and was not stolen, per BBC Sport.
"We were very sorry to hear about the burglary and have offered any assistance we can provide to Henrik and his family," an R&A spokesperson said.
Stenson finished the opening round with three birdies and two bogeys for a one-under 69. He's aiming to become the first player to win back-to-back Open Championship titles since Padraig Harrington accomplished the feat from 2007-08.
The Swede was one of the most decorated golfers in the world without a major championship on his resume before his triumph at Royal Troon last year. He owns 14 other victories between the PGA and European Tours along with two Race For Dubai titles and one FedEx Cup championship.
Stenson also captured a silver medal for Sweden at the 2016 Summer Olympics as golf made its return to the Games for the first time in 112 years.
