Geronimo Allison Suspended 1 Game for Violating NFL Substance Abuse Policy
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison has been suspended one game for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the news.
Allison, 23, reached a settlement in a marijuana possession case in April. He was arrested last September after an officer found marijuana in his car during a traffic stop.

As part of the plea agreement, Allison paid $330.50 after it was amended to an ordinance violation. He also agreed to do community service.
An undrafted free agent in 2016, Allison recorded 12 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers have perhaps the NFL's deepest core of receivers after selecting Purdue’s DeAngelo Yancey and LSU’s Malachi Dupree in April's draft.
“The depth is really good,” Packers receivers coach Luke Getsy said in minicamp (h/t Zach Kruse of Packers Wire). “It’s going to create a lot of competition in the room, and that brings out the best out of everybody. I think it’s going to be an exciting training camp to see who can push themselves ahead of the group.”
Given his suspension and the depth at his position, it's possible Allison does not wind up making the Packers roster at all. He was the No. 4 receiver on the depth chart for most of last season, and the Packers kept seven on their roster.
