Auman later noted that Fowler had been previously arrested in March of last year on charges of assault on an officer/EMT and resisting arrest. Those charges were dropped, per Auman.
The 22-year-old Fowler is set to enter his third season with the Jaguars after being selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft out of Florida.
Fowler missed his entire rookie season in 2015 due to injury, but he returned in 2016 and registered 32 tackles and 4.0 sacks.
Although Fowler made just one start in 2016, he is penciled in as a starter entering the 2017 campaign across from free-agent addition Calais Campbell.
