Real Madrid Transfer News: Alvaro Morata to Milan May Meet 'Dead End' over Wages

AC Milan's pursuit of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata could reportedly be about to hit a "dead end" due to the player's wage demands. 

Per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport), Morata has asked for between €10 million and €12 million per season if he is to join the Rossoneri.

The Spain international is also expected to cost Milan €80 million, making any potential transfer too expensive.

Per Mediaset (via Ben Gladwell at ESPN FC), Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has recently admitted the club are interested in signing Morata but "only on our conditions."

Unless Morata is willing to reduce his wage demands, that now looks unlikely, and Milan may have to pursue other targets.

Chief executive officer Marco Fassone has also revealed that Torino striker Andrea Belotti and Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also in the frame, per AC Milan TV (via ESPN FC).

Milan are enjoying a busy summer, having signed nine players, most notably centre-back Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus. The club confirmed he will join on a five-year deal.

However, having strengthened defensively and in midfield, a top striker now also appears on the cards. Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol claimed an offer for Belotti has already been made:

The Italian scored 26 goals in 34 Serie A starts for Torino last season, per WhoScored.com, and would surely be tempted to make a step up in his career by moving to the San Siro.

Aubameyang is also clearly an option, and he may feel he has unfinished business at Milan. He started out at the club but failed to make the grade and was eventually sold to Saint-Etienne in 2011.
