LPGA Informs Players It Will Enforce Stricter Dress Code Policy
The LPGA informed its players that as of Monday, July 17, it will begin to enforce a stricter dress code.
According to Golf Digest's Ashley Mayo, the memo—which was sent out July 2—will prohibit players from wearing racerbacks, shirts with plunging necklines and leggings, unless they are worn under a skort or shorts.
The memo also states players must wear skirts, shorts or skorts that are "long enough to not see your bottom area (even if covered by under shorts) at any time, standing or bent over."

"The dress code requires players to present themselves in a professional manner to reflect a positive image for the game," LPGA chief communications officer Heather Daly-Donofrio said, per Mayo. "While we typically evaluate our policies at the end of the year, based on input from our players, we recently made some minor adjustments to the policy to address some changing fashion trends."
The memo also states players will be fined $1,000 the first time they violate the dress code, and penalties will double for each subsequent infraction.
