Timo Werner Reportedly Eyed as Real Madrid's Replacement for Alvaro Morata
Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner as a potential replacement for Alvaro Morata.
According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol (via the Mirror's Jake Polden), Los Blancos are "keeping tabs" on the 21-year-old Germany international, who starred at the recent 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
Morata's departure from the Santiago Bernabeu has seemed likely for some time, with Manchester United recently reported to be closing in on meeting Real's €80 million (£70 million) demand, per Jose Felix Diaz of Marca.

However, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone, the Red Devils have now dropped their interest in the 24-year-old Spain international after agreeing a fee of around £75 million with Everton for Romelu Lukaku.
As a result, Real's need to pursue Werner may be less pressing, but he could still be a fine addition to Zinedine Zidane's squad, and Morata may yet leave for a different club before the transfer window closes.
Werner netted 21 Bundesliga goals and provided five assists in 31 appearances in 2016-17 as Leipzig finished second in the German top flight, per WhoScored.com.
He went on to win the Golden Boot as Germany triumphed at the Confederations Cup and is one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe, per Squawka:
Werner is contracted to his current club until 2020, so it will take a significant bid from Real to tempt Leipzig into selling one of their star men.
But, should Los Blancos find themselves in need of another forward, Werner could be worth a big outlay given his immense talent.
