Alvaro Morata's Agent Reportedly in Talks with Madrid Amid Man United Rumours
Alvaro Morata's agent and father reportedly held talks with Real Madrid on Monday lunchtime about the striker's proposed move to Manchester United.
As reported by Olmo Domingo and Eduardo Candel of AS, Alfonso Morata and the player's representative, Juanma Lopez, met with Madrid chiefs at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It's suggested Madrid are reluctant to sell their striker for less than €80 million (£70 million), but the Premier League side have yet to match the valuation.
However, according to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils hope to complete the transfer before they head off on their pre-season tour of the United States.
"United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is continuing to work on Jose Mourinho's priority targets and M.E.N. Sport understands the club could unveil Real Madrid striker Morata before United head across the Atlantic on Sunday," added Luckhurst.

Red Devils fans will be desperate to wrap up the deal as preparations begin for the new season in earnest. With 15 goals scored in 26 La Liga appearances last term—14 as a starter—Morata would be an exciting acquisition.
Some will question the transfer fee, and with good reason. The MailOnline Twitter feed picked some holes in Morata's otherwise impressive goalscoring record from the 2016-17 season:
After all, while the Spain international was excellent off the bench for Madrid last term, 2016-17 is first the season in which he has scored more than eight league goals in a top-flight term. He's also yet to start more than 16 league matches over the course of a campaign.
With that in mind, the signing would represent something of a gamble. But if Morata continues on the upward trajectory he embarked on last season, he'll do wonderfully in the Premier League.
As noted by Spanish football journalist Colin Millar, there's a lot more to the Spaniard's game than sticking the ball in the back of the net anyway:
While Zlatan Ibrahimovic offered an awesome focal point for the Red Devils attack, there were times last season when United needed mobility in the final third.

Morata will help United find that fluidity. The striker has an appetite for the game and was a willing worker up top for Zinedine Zidane's side.
In the past United have had forwards who raise the pulse with their explosiveness and ability to conjure moments of inspiration. Morata may not fall into that category, but if United can get him, he should shine working with Mourinho.
