During WWE Raw at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday night, LaMelo Ball used a racial slur.

LaMelo appeared on the show with his father, LaVar, and one of his brothers, Lonzo, who was selected No. 2 overall in the 2017 NBA draft by the Lakers.

According to Houston Mitchell of the Los Angeles Times, LaMelo yelled, "Beat that [expletive]," saying the N-word during a segment involving intercontinental champion The Miz and Dean Ambrose.

LaMelo's miscue came amid chaos as LaVar ripped off his shirt and began walking around the ring before Ambrose interrupted.

Per Mitchell, WWE released the following statement regarding the situation: "The inappropriate language used by a guest during the 'Miz TV' segment was not scripted nor reflects WWE's values."

The segment was significant in that it marked the first time Lonzo appeared live at the Staples Center since the Lakers selected him in the draft last Thursday in Brooklyn, New York.

LaMelo is set to follow in Lonzo's footsteps as he will be a high school junior next season and is already committed to play his college ball at UCLA.
