
Le Mans 2017 Results: Porsche Wins After Toyota Forced to Retire
Porsche were victorious at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2017 as Brendon Hartley, Timo Bernhard and Earl Bamber claimed the win on Sunday.
Kamui Kobayashi and Toyota were leading the way in the battle for supremacy, but mechanical issues forced the team to retire.
This left the No. 2 car for Porsche to take the chequered fag after their primary car exited the race with an an oil pressure issue.

- No. 2 Porsche LMP Team - 24:01:14.075
- No. 38 Jackie Chan DC Racing - 24:01:41.080
- No. 13 Vaillante Rebellion - 24:04:32.351

The LMP1 class was much reduced in numbers this year, but the action remained palpable as racing fans expected success for Toyota.
The team have been impressive during the season, and it appeared they would claim the victory on French soil.
However, reliability is always the deciding factor in the 24-hour race, and the favourites dropped out of contention.
Kobayashi was in control when mechanical issues struck, and despite their obvious speed, it was the end of Toyota's challenge.
The door was opened for Porsche to claim their third-straight title in the LMP1 vehicle.

It was a surprise result for Porsche after an average season of racing in preparation for Le Mans.
Toyota have looked unstoppable at times, but this race often produces drama and shocks.
