Saturday Recap
The Oregon Ducks defended their home turf by claiming the women's team national title. The Ducks' 4x400-meter relay victory sealed the championship for them.
The team of Hannah Waller, Makenzie Dunmore, Brooke Feldmeier and Raevyn Rogers finished 0.22 seconds ahead of the USC Trojans' quartet of Cameron Pettigrew, Amalie Iuel, Kyra Constantine and Kendall Ellis.
Rogers, who won the individual national title in the 800-meter run, ran the anchor leg for Oregon. Her split time of 49.77 seconds helped set an NCAA record, per Pac-12 Networks:
Rogers was the only individual national champion among the Ducks' squad.
In taking the outdoor title, the Oregon women achieved something never before done:
The LSU Tigers only finished tied for seventh in the team standings, but it wasn't through any fault of Mikiah Brisco's. The junior won the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96 seconds.
The Tigers shared her post-race comments:
While they finished runners-up to the Ducks, the Georgia Bulldogs cleaned up during the field portion of this year's tournament. Madeline Fagan and Tatiana Gusin placed first and second, respectively, in the high jump, while Keturah Orji took home the triple jump title.
Kendell Williams was also the national champion in the heptathlon. She was first in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump and was second in the 200-meter dash, long jump and javelin. Williams wound up more than 300 points better than Kansas State's Nina Schultz.
