Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Emre Can and Kevin Stewart
Liverpool will reportedly not sell star midfielder Emre Can even if his contract stalemate doesn't get resolved ahead of next season, but Kevin Stewart, a favourite of manager Jurgen Klopp, will leave Anfield this summer.
According to Andy Hunter of the Guardian, the Reds do not plan on cashing in on Can this summer despite his current contract situation, with his deal set to expire next season.
The Germany international has yet to sign a new deal amid rumours he's looking for weekly wages of £100,000 and not happy with his role in the squad.

Can has been in excellent form of late, which has reignited the debate on what to do with the former Bayer Leverkusen man. This is Anfield wondered whether his good run would lead to a new contract:
Dinesh Kumar of WhoScored.com weighed in on the discussion regarding the 23-year-old's value and output:
Consistency has been an issue for Can, but when he's been in form, he's been among the Reds' most valuable players this season. As a versatile midfielder with range and the strength to battle, he plays a crucial role in Klopp's system built around pressing.
According to the report, Can isn't happy with Klopp playing him in a more advanced position, however, and the increased strain due to the many sprints required of him may have contributed to his ongoing calf problems.
There's plenty of time left for the two parties to resolve their issues, and Liverpool's stance for the near future is a smart move. Too often clubs grow scared and cash in on a player, rather than wait things out and reap the benefits in the meantime.

According to Hunter, Liverpool would value Can's contributions over the next 12 months more than what a replacement would cost. If Klopp thinks that highly of Can, there's no reason to believe the Reds won't eventually offer a deal the midfielder is willing to sign.
Meanwhile, Paul Joyce of the Times (h/t Football Insider's Matt Bullin) reports Klopp will allow midfielder Stewart to leave the club during the summer. James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo previously reported the 23-year-old was not for sale under any circumstances.
According to Pearce, Klopp considered the former Tottenham Hotspur man a valuable depth piece and was impressed with his development. The club turned down several approaches for his services.

He's done little to improve his value since then, however, and Klopp hasn't given the youngster consistent minutes, which indicates he hasn't been all that impressive in training.
A move to a smaller club and more consistent playing time could benefit Stewart's career tremendously, while the Reds are expected to invest in a top midfield option during the summer.
