Kristaps Porzingis Says He Wants to Be with Knicks, Ducks Phil Jackson Question
Despite refusing to meet with team president Phil Jackson after the end of the 2016-17 regular season, New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis wants to stay with his current team.
When asked if he wants to be a Knick next season, the Latvian responded, "Of course," per Marc Berman of the New York Post.
"I love New York. I love New York," he added.
However, Porzingis refused to comment about why he missed his exit meeting.
As Berman previously reported, the second-year player was scheduled to meet with Jackson and general manager Steve Mills last Thursday but blew it off. Porzingis was reportedly "disappointed throughout the season with how the franchise is being run."
The No. 4 pick in the 2015 draft has exceeded expectations in his two seasons, making the All-Rookie team last year before averaging 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
Unfortunately, the Knicks finished 31-51 and missed the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.
With Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical also reporting rebellion against the triangle offense, the problems appear to only be starting in New York.
