Red Sox Pitching Prospect Roniel Raudes Has Bizzarre Pre-Pitch Routine
Roniel Raudes' pitching motion is standard stuff. The Boston Red Sox prospect's pre-pitch practice, however, is unconventional to say the least.
As shown by ESPN's Keith Law, the 19-year-old righty crouches down and slides the baseball and glove over his head. He then resets to an upright stance and pauses before releasing.
For those wondering how he can hold baserunners with that tic, he appears to drop the routine when he pitches out of the stretch, per MiLB:

Law ranked Raudes as Boston's No. 6 prospect, a list led by top MLB prospect Andrew Benintendi. He said the teenager harnessed "good command of average stuff" and carries "fourth starter upside."
Raudes showcased that plus command with the Single-A Greenville Drive last season, registering a 3.65 ERA, 104 strikeouts and 23 walks in 113.1 innings.
