Former Oregon TE Colt Lyerla Arrested for Heroin Possession, Forgery
Former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla was arrested Monday for heroin possession and forgery.
According to Jack Pitcher of the Daily Emerald, Lyerla is being held at the Washington County Jail in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Per Pitcher, Lyerla was convicted of felony heroin possession in February. The 24-year-old was then sentenced to 18 months probation on March 14, according to KGW.
Pitcher reported that the terms of Lyerla's probation included "not frequenting places where drugs are bought or sold."
Lyerla played for the Ducks in 2011 and 2012 before quitting the team during the 2013 season.
He was then arrested two weeks later for unlawful possession of cocaine.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft, Lyerla was signed by the Green Bay Packers before getting injured and subsequently waived.
He spent time with the Arizona Rattlers and Portland Steel of the Arena Football League in 2016.
Lyerla is scheduled to be arraigned at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday for his latest arrest.
