Interpreter for Dodgers' Kenta Maeda Deadlifts 405 Pounds
As the Los Angeles Dodgers prepare for the upcoming MLB season, they have received some spring training motivation from an unlikely source.
Will Ireton, pitcher Kenta Maeda's language interpreter, accepted a clubhouse challenge to deadlift 405 pounds. Courtesy of Dodgers southpaw Alex Wood, Ireton pumped himself up by wearing a revealing singlet and tiger mask as Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" played:
All the showmanship could have went for naught, but "Will the Thrill" succeeded to the room's rousing approval.

As manager Dave Roberts told True Blue LA's Eric Stephen, news of the wager peaked his interest, so he "brought the weight room into the clubhouse." While details of the bet were not disclosed, Ireton at least won bragging rights.
"I was more hoping, but I wasn't counting on it," Roberts said. "He proved a number of people in the clubhouse wrong."
