Floyd Mayweather Says Conor McGregor Should 'Sign the Paper' for Fight

Floyd Mayweather has called out UFC star Conor McGregor once again, telling the lightweight champion he should "sign the paper" if he wants to make the proposed superfight between the two happen. 

As reported by ESPN's Ben Dirs, the 40-year-old made the comments during his tour of the United Kingdom, saying: "If Conor McGregor really wants this fight to happen, stop blowing smoke up everybody's ass. Sign the paper. Sign the paper. You said you were boss, so just sign the paper and let's make it happen."

The two have been trading shots in the media for some time now, as rumours of a potential superfight between the duo have persisted since Money last fought in 2015.

The win over Andre Berto took his professional record to 49-0, tied with Rocky Marciano for the greatest undefeated boxing record of all time. Mayweather is officially retired, but many fans and pundits believe he'll return to the ring at least once more to grab the record outright.

Per Dirs, McGregor has already successfully applied for a boxing license in the state of California. While at first the superfight seemed pure fantasy, Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman Anthony Marnell confirmed the two have entered negotiations, and it now seems it could happen.

UFC President Dana White told TMZ negotiations are "nowhere," however:

McGregor has never been involved in a professional boxing match and hasn't entered the Octagon since he defeated Eddie Alvarez for the UFC's lightweight belt in 2016.
