Beth Phoenix in the Hall of Fame, Fastlane and Top WWE News from Week of March 4
Fastlane is the last stop on the WWE calendar before the men and women of WWE head to Orlando for WrestleMania 33.
As usual, there was just as much going on outside the ring as there was inside. Let's take a look at some of the biggest stories from the past week.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
According to WWE.com, Stephanie McMahon has been chosen as one of this year's Henry Crown Fellows by The Aspen Institute.
This honor is given to business leaders under 45 years old who have a positive impact and help create a better society using their skills.
This isn't the first time McMahon has been recognized for her hard work. She was awarded the first Golden Boot Award by the USO in 2015 for her work with the organization and Multichannel News' TV Wonder Woman of the Year Award in 2016.
McMahon has been a big part of the WWE's charitable ventures over the years. She helped kick-start Connor's Cure, has created a partnership with The Special Olympics and helped spearhead the WWE's anti-bullying campaign.
Regardless of how you feel about her character on television, it's hard not to respect her for everything she does behind-the-scenes.
Beth Phoenix to be Inducted into WWE Hall of Fame
The WWE added another name to this year's Hall of Fame class Monday when it announced Beth Phoenix would be the next inductee.
At just 36 years old, Phoenix will officially be the youngest performer ever inducted into the HOF, which is an accomplishment by itself.
She only spent four years on the WWE's main roster, but her career spanned 11 years before she decided to retire in 2012.
Her run came during a time when the WWE's women's division was little more than a sideshow. As one of the most powerful women to ever step into a WWE ring, she was one of the few bright spots during her time with the company.
She is married to Adam "Edge" Copeland in real life, which makes them the first couple to be inducted. She is still young enough to return for one more match should she feel the itch to get back in the ring, and with the level of talent in today's women's division, she would have a lot of opponents to choose from.
WrestleMania Match to be Decided on SmackDown
Tuesday's SmackDown featured the predictable, but still entertaining segment with Randy Orton turning his back on Bray Wyatt.
Before burning down Wyatt's compound, The Viper declared he had no intention of giving up his title shot April 2 at WrestleMania.
This created a problem for Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, who has already declared AJ Styles the No. 1 contender after a grueling match against Luke Harper.
According to WWE.com, The Phenomenal One will have one more obstacle to overcome on his way to a WrestleMania main event when he faces Orton next Tuesday.
Asuka Closing in on Goldberg's Undefeated Record
Goldberg's big claim to fame is his undefeated streak from WCW. The former world champion allegedly racked up 173 wins before finally being defeated.
Most know the number is likely closer to 160 wins, but that is still a huge number. Nobody has come close to tying his record until now.
Asuka has officially reached 149 wins as of February 25. If the WWE continues to book her the way it has been, she will break his record before she makes it to the main roster. Goldberg showed support for the NXT women's champion by congratulating her on Twitter.
Asuka has been carrying the NXT women's division ever since Bayley was called up to Raw. She is the longest-reigning champion in NXT history, and when she eventually makes it to the main roster, she will continue proving she is one of the best in the world.
Jack Swagger Requests Release, WWE Comments
Former world champion Jack Swagger called Chael Sonnen during his Beyond The Fight podcast to announce he had requested his release from the WWE this week.
Swagger has been in a rut ever since his team with Zeb Colter was disbanded, and it's been years since he was in the hunt for a top title, so it's not surprising to hear he is unhappy.
Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc reached out to the WWE for comment, and the company responded with "Jack Swagger has not been granted a release from his WWE contract. When he is granted his release, Jack Swagger will remain under exclusive contract to WWE for 90 days and will be compensated accordingly during that period."
Despite his poor booking, Swagger is a good wrestler who could be valuable to a promotion looking to add some name recognition to its roster.
