Raiders Stadium Plan Submitted by Fortress Investment Group to NFL
One thing the Oakland Raiders have been seeking if they are going to remain in California is a new stadium, and that part of the equation appears to have taken a step forward.
Per Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, Fortress Investment Group submitted plans for the new stadium at the current site of the Oakland Coliseum.
The report noted this proposal made by Fortress Investment Group is "fundamentally the same" as one rejected by the NFL in December, but contains information to "clarify some questions raised by the league."

The group and Oakland city officials will meet with NFL owners at some point in March. The meeting will also include a vote on whether or not the Raiders will be given permission by the NFL to relocate to Las Vegas.
In January, the Raiders officially applied for relocation to Las Vegas. Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal reported the bid "does not have a lease agreement in it."
Las Vegas Sands corporation chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson announced on January 30 his company had withdrawn its investment in a proposed 65,000-seat stadium that would have cost a total of $1.9 billion, per Richard Velotta of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
With the Raiders still in search of stadium financing for Las Vegas, the team's current city is trying to find a way to satisfy the franchise in order to keep them in Oakland.
The Raiders are in their second stint playing in Oakland following a return to the city in 1995 after spending the previous 13 seasons playing in Los Angeles. They went 12-4 last season, earning their first winning record and playoff berth since 2002.
