Hawkins edged a close match with Yassen, winning 37-4 to beat the clock.
Perry's exit was one of the surprises of the day as he was defeated 61-41 in his single frame against Joyce.
Former world champion Graeme Dott put together the best break of the day in the final match of the night, sinking a wonderful effort of 96 to beat Mitchell Mann.
