Jared Odrick Released by Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars released defensive end Jared Odrick, DEC Management, Odrick confirmed via an Instagram post on Monday:
Odrick's representation had previously announced the team's intention to cut the defensive end.
The 6'5", 298-pounder appeared in six games for the Jaguars in 2016, compiling 12 tackles and one sack. Pro Football Focus graded the 29-year-old as Jacksonville's worst interior defender (44.2) among the five who saw at least 250 snaps. He also tied for 91st in the NFL as a whole.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran tweeted how the Jaguars have seen little return on their financial outlay during the 2015 offseason:
Odrick's contract was likely a strong consideration behind the Jaguars' decision. According to Over the Cap, he was signed for three more years but saves the team $8.5 million in 2017 with no dead money on the books.
Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke and First Coast News' Mike Kaye think Odrick will land on his feet with another team:
Odrick has never been a dominant pass-rusher. Six sacks are his single-season best, and he has 23 in 87 career games.
As Kaye argued, though, Odrick can still be a productive presence against the run. The Jaguars might have kept him if he didn't carry such a significant cap number.
Targeting Odrick will be a solid contingency plan for the teams unable to land one of this year's top free agents along the defensive line, such as Calais Campbell, Alan Branch, Kawann Short and Chris Baker.
