WWE's Greatest Champions Part 1: Women's Championship
My next few articles will be my opinion of the top 10 champions in WWE history. I'll start off with my Top 10 Women's Champions.
10. Molly Holly (2 times)
Though not one of the most popular or most dominant, Holly held the title twice, beating both Trish Stratus and Gail Kim to earn the belt. She would hold the title for a combined total of 10 months, and was noted for losing her hair after losing a match to Victoria.

9. Melina (2 times)
The Paparazzi Princess definitely made her presence known in the Diva division, when she defeated Mickie James in early 2007 to win the Women's Championship in her home state of California. She would then prove her dominance, defeating all comers who faced her, before she lost to Candice Michelle. Melina held the title for a total of four months.
8. Jazz (2 times)
The Louisiana native first came to WWE as the mystery opponent in the Women's Six-Pack Challenge for the vacated title. After losing the match, she feuded with Trish Stratus, and beat her twice for her only championship reigns. With Teddy Long by her side, she was an unstoppable force, holding the title for a total of five months.
7. Wendi Richter (2 times)
Richter becomes the first women's champ from the '80's to hit the list. She was WWE's second Women's Champion, ending the Fabulous Moolah's 28-year reign. Wendi won the title twice within a year (1984-1985), both times in New York City, and held the title for a total of one year, three months.
6. Ivory (3 times)
Ivory is our first on the list to win more than 2 titles. She has defeated Lita, Debra, and Moolah to win her belts, and was noted for being the uptight, white-shirted, black-trousered woman of Right To Censor. Her combined reign as champion equals 11 months.
5. Chyna (1 time)
Despite having only won one Women's Championship, Chyna cracks our top 5 due to her success and popularity. The former bodyguard of Triple H defeated Ivory in 2001 to claim her only Women's belt, after winning two Intercontinental titles in 1999 and 2000 (the only woman to do so). She would hold the belt for seven months, before retiring from the WWE as champion.
4. Mickie James (4 times)
James, the current champion, burst onto the scene as a devoted and obsessed Trish fan. After creeping Trish out to the breaking point, she broke all ties with her with a Mick Kick, and would defeat her at Wrestlemania 21 to win her first title.
After losing to Lita, James wouldn't get another belt until late November, beating Lita in the veteran's final match. She then turned face, and would continue to defend the title with pride and honor, eventually losing twice to Melina.
Currently feuding with Beth Phoenix, she would one-up her archnemesis to capture title number four. Her total reigning time is nine months and counting.
3. Fabulous Moolah (4 times)
The first ever Women's Champion. She is known for having the longest title reign at 28 years, and she was the ultimate Diva of the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. She would win her final Women's title in 1999 over Ivory, 43 years after her first title victory, but only held it for a week. Her total time is unprecedented: 29 years, five months.
2. Lita (4 times)
She was the first major Women's Champ of the decade (not counting Stephanie, that was a joke of a reign). The former manager/sidekick of Essa Rios went independent, and became one of the most dominating and fun-to-watch Divas of all time. She was known for her signature Moonsault, her stint with the Hardyz, Edge, and her marriage to Kane. Her total time: five months.
1. Trish Stratus (7 times)
Undoubtedly the number one on everyone's list. Trish broke on the scene as the manager of T&A (Test & Albert), and mainly stayed on the sidelines until her first singles match against Stephanie.
After being sidelined withan injury, Trish continued to work out and work her in-ring skill before entering the Six-Pack Challenge at Survivor Series 2001 and winning. She then feuded with such stars as Jazz, Lita, Victoria, Molly Holly, Mickie James, and Melina. She would retire in September of 2006, defeating Lita to win her seventh title. She would hold the belt for a total of 1 year, four months.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Candice Michelle, Victoria, Jacqueline
As always, I welcome your feedback and comments, as well as any suggestions.
