Jose Mourinho Reportedly Considered for New Manchester United Contract
Manchester United are reportedly considering offering manager Jose Mourinho an extended contract.
According to Jamie Jackson of the Guardian, the powers-that-be at Old Trafford are “delighted” with the way Mourinho’s tenure has started and believe he’s the right man to restore the glory days.
Mourinho himself, too, is keen to stay beyond his contracted three years at the Theatre of Dreams, and club owners the Glazer family are also perfectly happy to meet the Portuguese boss’ demands.

United sit 13 points off the pace set by leaders Chelsea in the Premier League and four adrift of fourth-place Arsenal, but recent performances have proved that things are on the up for the Red Devils.
High-profile summer signings Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are becoming a real force, while the formerly shaky defence is also solidifying.
In fact, United are unbeaten in 10 games and looked to be back to their dominant selves in the 2-0 victory over West Brom last time out.
But not everyone is so convinced that Mourinho is doing a great job.
Chelsea’s dominance at the top of the league has undermined any progress the Blues’ former manager has made, with YouTuber TekkaBooSon jesting United have only gone backwards:
Bringing the Champions League back to Old Trafford could determine how many of Mourinho’s doubters he wins over, but it also comes down to style of play and the impact he’s having behind the scenes.
Jackson wrote that the rumours of the former Chelsea manager being in a bad mood on the training ground were completely quashed by United, with several members of the hierarchy saying he’s something of a “practical joker” rather than a misery.

United are looking to extend their unbeaten run over the busy Christmas period, with matches against Premier League strugglers Sunderland, Middlesbrough and West Ham to come.
However, Mourinho and Co. will face a stiff examination of their title credentials on January 15 when they welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford.
If the new boss finds a way to overcome their most bitter rivals and continue to surge towards the top of the table, he could well win over some of his doubters and warrant a new and improved deal.
