WWE Roadblock 2016: Results That Will Have Biggest Impacts at Royal Rumble
Even though most of WWE's roster is headed for the traditional Royal Rumble match at the company's next pay-per-view in January, it doesn't mean Sunday's Roadblock: End of the Line show didn't have some major implications for the first big pay-per-view of 2017.
Although Sunday's show was a miss rather than a hit, Roadblock: End of the Line offered Raw an interesting path into the start of 2017.
And the night's biggest results left the card at the Royal Rumble looking different.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Charlotte Flair def. Sasha Banks
Charlotte Flair's victory against Sasha Banks sets up two new feuds for the women's division heading into the Royal Rumble.
Not only does Flair's win throw her into the feud many expected her to have at the start of 2017—against Bayley—but it also has the added caveat of being for the Raw Women's Championship.
As for Banks, her future looked slightly less clear going into Sunday night.
But with her dropping the title, it has enabled someone from the pack to get the chance to work a program with Banks. Based on Monday's Raw, it looks like Nia Jax will step out of the shadows and go after The Boss.
Even if Flair's win caused a fair amount of unrest among WWE fans, it freshens up the division following the conclusion of her feud with Banks. The division's two biggest stars will now work their own feuds, and that will have a big impact on how successful the Royal Rumble is.
Rich Swann def. The Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins
The conclusion of Rich Swann's successful defense of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship may fade into the background, given Neville's shock return to TV on Sunday.
However, the fact that Swann won was telling for the division moving forward.
For starters, TJ Perkins and The Brian Kendrick appear to have enough chemistry to craft a feud of their own moving forward into 2017.
One of them would have had to keep feuding with Swann before Neville's return. But with the Englishman returning with a new attitude, his past history with Swann makes this feud a no-brainer for the division.
And after a stagnant few months in terms of storyline depth, the events of Sunday will make for compelling viewing.
Cesaro and Sheamus def. The New Day
For the first time in well over a year, Raw's tag division has a new dynamic and new champions.
Whether it's The New Day that heads to the Royal Rumble to face Cesaro and Sheamus remains to be seen, and it's not inconceivable that, for the first time in a long while, the trio could embark in singles competition next month.
Kofi Kingston will likely be in the pay-per-view's marquee match, as he has a long history of creating memorable spots in the 30-man bonanza.
And with other teams like Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson waiting in the wings, Sunday night could prove to be a defining night for the tag division.
Will The New Day stick around and go after the men who defeated it? Or will fresh foes step up to the plate?
