New Day vs. Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson vs. Cesaro, Sheamus: Winner, Reaction
The New Day made history Monday night on Raw, as they defeated the teams of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and Cesaro and Sheamus to retain the Raw Tag Team Championships and become the longest-reigning tag champs in WWE history.
Kofi Kingston delivered Trouble in Paradise to Sheamus, and Big E prevented Cesaro from making the save to give New Day the win. WWE showed the champions standing victorious on the entrance ramp:

WWE also provided a look at New Day's post-match party going on backstage:
Cesaro nearly grabbed the win for his team. He had Anderson locked in the Sharpshooter, but Big E interrupted the submission, robbing Cesaro and Sheamus of a possible title triumph.
Bleacher Report's Ryan Dilbert was content to watch the Swiss Superman operate in the ring despite the former United States champion coming out on the losing end:
With the victory, New Day ensured they will tie Demolition's 478-day reign Tuesday and surpass it on Wednesday.
As Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods drew closer to making history, Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley went out of their way to make them earn the record.
That resulted in New Day being forced to defend the titles on multiple occasions on Raw. It started with a match against Cesaro and Sheamus that saw Woods create a distraction with his trombone, allowing Kofi to pick up the win with a small package.
New Day then took on Gallows and Anderson, and they were once again victorious when Woods grabbed the tights on a roll-up.
With both challenging teams feeling as though they were wronged, they were put in a No. 1 contender's match last week with the winner earning another title shot.
There was no clear victor, however, as New Day got involved in the match from ringside and it was ruled a no-contest. That set the stage for a Triple Threat match with the titles on the line Monday.
Going into the bout, Kingston was well aware of how big of a challenge New Day were facing in terms of surpassing Demolition's mark:
Perhaps the biggest obstacle standing in New Day's way was the fact that they didn't even have to get pinned or submitted in order to lose the match.
That left them on high alert, although they still had the added advantage of an extra man at ringside to equalize the disadvantage in the match itself.
Also, New Day's experience in terms of defending the titles and pulling out every stop necessary to keep them gave them an upper hand against a pair of teams that had yet to capture the Tag Team Championships together entering the night.
That resourcefulness served them well, as they escaped with the titles in tow and ensured that Demolition's record will fall.
With Roadblock: End of the Line coming up Sunday, though, New Day's reign is far from safe. Since they defeated Cesaro and Sheamus in the match, Gallows and Anderson can stake claim to deserving another shot, although another Triple Threat is possible.
Regardless of what challenge comes next, New Day cemented their standing as one of the most successful tag teams in WWE history Monday.
