Barcelona have been linked with a shock move for Chelsea winger Victor Moses, with speculation suggesting the Catalan titans are tracking his progress "intensively." Elsewhere, reported Blaugrana target Stephan Lichtsteiner may remain at Juventus this winter.

According to Albert Masnou of Spanish newspaper Sport, Barca are examining Moses as an option to strengthen their defence following his move to right wing-back under Blues manager Antonio Conte.

The 25-year-old has been perhaps the one player who has benefited most from Conte's arrival at Stamford Bridge, going from outcast to team staple in a matter of months.

Moses has started in each of Chelsea's last six Premier League matches and most recently dazzled in the narrow 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Sky Sports Statto broke down his figures for that outing:

However, it's difficult to envision Chelsea allowing their rejuvenated star to leave the club just as he gets back to form. That's especially after Conte praised the winger's quality when speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Mirror's Jack Rathborn): "I could see his potential from the first days of the summer training camp. I find it incredible that someone like him has been underestimated."

Barcelona have utilised midfielder Sergi Roberto at right-back this season following Dani Alves' summer exit.

It's said Barcelona admire Moses for his attacking traits—natural for a winger—but his move further back has also convinced the Liga champions of his "defensive strength."

Barca could be in luck with Moses, though. After completing his move to west London in 2012, the former Wigan Athletic man spoke of his desire to one day pull on the Camp Nou club's colours, per the Guardian (h/t Sky Sports):

It has been a long journey [from Nigeria] and I just want to keep strong and work hard for myself, whether it's football or not football.

I have to thank God for being where I am, it's like a dream come true and, if I keep working hard, who knows, I'll probably end up in Barcelona one day.

Moses is contracted at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2019, but he could be open to the idea of a Camp Nou switch if it means he has an opportunity of playing for a club he admires.

His rich vein of form has carried over to the international arena too, and the BBC's John Bennett praised Moses for his fine work in Nigeria's recent 3-1 win over Algeria:

Meanwhile, another potential right-back recruit, Lichtsteiner, 32, is said to be considering putting pen to paper on the one-year contract extension he's been offered to stick with Juventus for another campaign.

Sport reported the Switzerland international is weighing up his options, but after five-and-a-half years in Turin, Lichtsteiner may be edging further out of Barcelona's reach as we approach the January transfer window.
