Chiefs Need Ford Healthy for Playoff Push
Ford had recorded just one tackle before he suffered the injury Nov. 20.
It's been a breakout year for the third-year linebacker out of Auburn. Through the first nine games of the season, he was leading the league with 10 sacks, which included a stretch between Weeks 8 through 10 where he collected 6.5 of them, via the NFL:
Ford had just 5.5 sacks through his first 30 career games from 2014 to 2015.
His impressive season was an important contribution for a team that had been without last year's leading sack artist, Justin Houston, who made his season debut in Week 11 after recovering from an ACL injury.
Without him, the rest of the Chiefs defense had just nine sacks in support of Ford.
If Ford is limited in the future, Kansas City will have to continue to rely on the newly returned Houston to replace the pass-rushing output.
