Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to let striker Daniel Sturridge leave the club, and West Ham United are the favourites to sign him.
That’s according to Neil Fissler of the Sunday Express, who reported that Klopp wants to make room for new players and will consequently move Sturridge on. It’s stated an offer of £25 million would need to be lodged for the Reds to consider a sale.
West Ham are said to still be keen to secure a big-name striker, with Simone Zaza struggling for form at London Stadium, and Sturridge would help solve their woes at the sharp end of the pitch.

Sturridge has yet to find the back of the net for Liverpool in the Premier League despite their blistering beginning to the campaign. The England international has found himself on the fringes of the squad, with Klopp preferring the work rate of Roberto Firmino at the point of the attack.
Despite failing to score in the league, Sturridge has caught the eye in some of his recent displays. Neil Jones of the Liverpool Echo praised the sharpshooter’s impact in the 0-0 draw at Southampton on Saturday:
Indeed, while Sturridge may not be guaranteed a starting spot as things stand, there are plenty of games still to play this season. Liverpool may not be involved in European competition, but they’re still in the EFL Cup and will have the FA Cup to fight for too. Sturridge, as such, will have a key role to play if the Reds are going to finish the season with silverware.
One of the main successes of Klopp’s reign at Anfield so far is the attacking variety the team operates with, and that’s something Sturridge has undoubtedly contributed to. His potency in front of goal, technical flair and burst of speed can help Liverpool this term, and that means a January sale is unlikely.
Steven Gerrard to Reject MK Dons

According to Peter O’Rourke of ESPN FC, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to reject the chance to manage MK Dons.
"The 36-year-old is keeping all his options open, but sources said that Gerrard is in no rush to move into management and is considering offers to extend his playing career," O’Rourke said.
James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo had previously reported that Gerrard had been in talks with the Reds about a possible return to the club, where he’d become part of Klopp’s coaching setup. As Squawka Football noted recently, the midfielder is an iconic figure at Anfield:
Gerrard has spent the last 18 months of his career with Los Angeles Galaxy, although he is set to embark on a new challenge after it was recently announced he would be departing L.A. According to Mike McGrath of the Sun on Sunday, Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune are ready to offer the 36-year-old £200,000 per week to join them.
For the midfielder, a return to Liverpool in some capacity seems to be inevitable, although reports suggest there are plenty of options for Gerrard to explore.
While the former England skipper is not the same force as a player, he may feel he still has something to offer on the field. If that is the case, an Anfield return is likely to be put on hold for a while yet.
