Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours, Players Linked to Red Devils
Manchester United are said to be lining up Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane as a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who could leave the club next summer. Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain have taken pole position in the race to sign Thiago Maia.
The Mirror's John Cross reported the Red Devils are "monitoring" Kane's situation at White Hart Lane amid speculation the striker is asking for wages of £100,000 a week in his north London setting.
Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract this past summer upon arriving at Old Trafford as a free agent, and although he could yet sign an extension with the club, there is a chance he might depart after a single season.

Bleacher Report's Dean Jones recently considered reports of United's alleged interest in Kane and just how credible that speculation might be:
The England frontman earns £60,000 a week at White Hart Lane, and Cross wrote the 23-year-old is eager to join fellow England forwards Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy on deals worth upwards of £100,000 a week.
The Sun also recently illustrated just how unfair it seemingly is that Kane earns a much smaller wage compared to some of his team-mates, such as goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and summer signing Moussa Sissoko:
Spurs aren't under much pressure to sell considering Kane has another three-and-a-half years left to run on his contract, although United would likely be ready to grant his wage wishes if they chase the player.
The Red Devils would likely have to submit an astronomical bid in order to tempt Spurs into a sale, and the situation could be complicated further in the event Kane's patience wears thin and he actively pursues the club exit.
Meanwhile, Santos midfielder Thiago could be on his way to Parc des Princes in January after it was reported the French titans are ready to pay €20 million (£17.1 million) in order to snag his services before any other suitor.
That's according to Lorenzo Bettoni of Italian outlet Calciomercato, who cited reports in France suggesting the Ligue 1 champions now lead the hunt for the Brazilian, although Football Manager researcher Paulo Freitas has said a move is premature:
Bettoni also provided quotes from Thiago, who appears happy to make the move to Paris: “I know many people there. Marquinhos is one of them and he always has nice words for the club and its organisation, I’d be happy to move to PSG one day.”
Thiago, 19, dazzled for Brazil's under-23 side at the Rio 2016 Olympics this year and has been one of Santos' greatest prospects in recent times, but United could be beaten to the punch unless they can offer a January move.
