WWE Superstar Power Rankings Ahead of November 14 Raw
Sunday's WWE Survivor Series 2016 is being positioned as the major Raw-versus-SmackDown pay-per-view of the year, which has led to some interesting shifts in recent storylines.
Rivals are being forced to put their differences aside so they can fight for brand supremacy. It's always fun to see enemies forced to work together, and Survivor Series will deliver on that front.
On top of the three traditional elimination matches, each brand will put one of its titles on the line against a competitor from the opposing show.
Dolph Ziggler will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn, but the bout with the bigger possible impact is Kalisto vs. The Brian Kendrick.
If Kalisto can win, the entire cruiserweight division will move to SmackDown, so Raw has a lot more to lose than the blue brand on Sunday night.
During the build to Survivor Series, a lot of Superstars have stepped up and helped sell an event where we will see the majority of WWE's titles go undefended.
Let's take a look at who topped the WWE power rankings from the past week.
10. Noam Dar
1 of 10One of the smartest things WWE did during its European tour was wait until Raw took place in Glasgow, Scotland, to introduce the Israeli-Scottish Noam Dar to the cruiserweight division.
Dar was one of the standouts of the Cruiserweight Classic, but this was the first time WWE fans who didn't watch the tournament got to see this talented young grappler in action.
Despite being teamed up with a heel Kendrick, Dar received the biggest pop of the night on his entrance, and the crowd continued to support him throughout the match.
By allowing him to get a huge reaction on his Raw debut, WWE has created more interest in the Superstar than it would have by introducing him in front a crowd who wasn't as familiar with his background.
Dar is only 23 years old, so WWE can make him a focal point in the division for years to come.
9. Kalisto
2 of 10Kalisto has only been back from an injury for a few weeks but is already involved in a match which could change both the Raw and SmackDown rosters in a big way.
If he wins the cruiserweight title from Kendrick at Survivor Series, the entire cruiserweight division will move to SmackDown.
Fans were scratching their heads when Kalisto was drafted to SmackDown and thus away from the cruiserweight division, but this could be a problem of the past after Survivor Series.
The new cruiserweight show, 205 Live, will air after SmackDown every week, so management might feel like moving the whole division to the same night will create more interest.
Regardless of what ends up happening, Kalisto needs to be around the other cruiserweights. His style works better when he is facing someone who is capable of doing the same things.
8. Braun Strowman
3 of 10Drafting Braun Strowman away from the rest of The Wyatt Family was a risky move, but the big man has started to show more personality in recent weeks.
His size alone makes him a force to be reckoned with, but it's his impressive speed for a man of his girth which makes him stand out.
His strong, silent persona works well for him, and his playing off Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho has led to a few funny moments.
It's too early to tell if the WWE Universe will ever get behind Strowman, but hopefully WWE will give him enough time to succeed so that he doesn't turn into the world's largest jobber.
7. Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss
4 of 10Becky Lynch has done a good job anchoring the SmackDown women's division, but Alexa Bliss has to be recognized for the quality of her recent work.
Her natural athleticism allows her to keep up with more experienced wrestlers like Lynch and Natalya, but her real power is in her work as a heel.
She perfectly embodies the ultimate mean girl everyone has encountered at some point with her mic work and simple facial expressions.
She is a great foil for Lynch's fan-favorite character, and if she continues to perform at the same level we have seen in recent weeks, she will be a champion in no time.
6. Raw Women's Survivor Series Team
5 of 10If you compare the women's Survivor Series teams from Raw and SmackDown, the red brand clearly has an advantage when it comes to star power.
SmackDown's team is filled with great talents, but Raw has three of the Four Horsewomen in Bayley, Charlotte and Sasha Banks, the dominant Nia Jax and one of the longest-standing veterans in the division, Alicia Fox.
Other than a friendship between Banks and Bayley, there is no unity on this team whatsoever, and it's going to make for some interesting moments during their match on Sunday.
Nothing will actually be at stake at Survivor Series other than bragging rights, so hopefully WWE will use this bout as an opportunity to develop a few different storylines at once.
5. Dolph Ziggler
6 of 10Ever since he won the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz, Ziggler has come across as a more confident and experienced veteran.
His ability in the ring has always been among the best, but his recent mic work has been a big improvement over the Ziggler we saw over the past several years.
By allowing him to throw down an open challenge to the entire Raw roster, WWE has allowed him to look like more of a fighting champion than anyone else holding a title right now.
As one of the few singles matches on the Survivor Series card, Ziggler and Sami Zayn are under a lot of pressure to put on a good show. Knowing what they are capable of, they are more than up to the task.
4. Sami Zayn
7 of 10Zayn has been one of the most underused Superstars on the roster since his feud with Owens ended, so it's great to see WWE using him in an Intercontinental Championship match at Survivor Series.
He looked strong in his victory over Rusev to earn the title shot on Raw, and if WWE plans on trading the Intercontinental and Cruiserweight Championships between brands, Zayn is the perfect person to bring the IC belt to Raw.
Despite WWE's poor use of Zayn's talents over the past few months, he has remained one of the people who can pop the crowd in every city WWE visits.
It's going to be interesting to see if the crowd sides with Zayn or Ziggler on Sunday. No matter who the fans cheer for, they are going to see a great performance from two talented workhorses.
3. SmackDown Men's Survivor Series Team
8 of 10Just in case having AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton on the SmackDown team wasn't enough, WWE decided to add Shane McMahon to the mix.
Putting the commissioner of SmackDown into a match for brand supremacy is intriguing enough because of the storyline possibilities it presents, but having someone as popular as McMahon in that position makes it even better.
He received glowing reviews for his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 because of the risks he took, so it will be interesting to see what he has planned for Survivor Series.
This match also allows for some storyline development with Orton and Wyatt's ongoing angle, which has become a major part of SmackDown.
WWE did a good job picking five men from each roster to represent its best and brightest, so let's hope they live up to the hype.
2. Seth Rollins
9 of 10Seth Rollins' slow transition from evil villain to beloved hero has been done with both logic and patience, two things WWE storylines can often lack.
Teasing possible reunions with Roman Reigns is a great way to show how Rollins has changed and give Reigns a small boost in popularity at the same time.
Being on the same Survivor Series team against their former Shield teammate will make for some entertaining moments on Sunday.
A union between Rollins and Reigns could be what secures the win for team Raw, but it might be more interesting if Reigns turns heel on the whole team and takes out Rollins at the same time.
1. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens
10 of 10WWE has a ton of great talent on the roster, but Jericho and Owens have become the most consistently entertaining act across all WWE programming.
They play off each other perfectly, and the way they are slowly building to what is sure to be one turning on the other has been subtle and clear at the same time. The ending to Raw's main event is obviously setting up more problems between the two in the future.
They can even make other people more interesting by association, which is what happened with Strowman on Raw during a few backstage segments and the main event.
At some point, Jericho is going to want the title for himself, and when their team finally implodes, it should lead to a classic showdown.
What are your predictions for Sunday's Survivor Series PPV?
