Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Bastian Schweinsteiger, Adnan Januzaj
Bastian Schweinsteiger’s troubled time at Old Trafford looks like coming to an end sooner rather than later, as he could pack his bags for the United States of America in January.
The German international has been frozen out since Jose Mourinho took charge at the Theatre of Dreams, failing to make a single appearance in the famous red shirt so far this season.
And with that in mind, Schweinsteiger has been in discussions with numerous MLS clubs and is set to move when the transfer window opens again in the New Year.

According to Greg Stobart of Squawka, the 32-year-old is keeping his options open in the MLS, although he’s said to prefer a move to Los Angeles Galaxy or New York City.

Schweinsteiger still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford, and although he has now returned to first-team training with the rest of the squad, Mourinho has intention of giving him game time anytime soon.
However, Toby Gannon of The Sun reports that United are willing to pay as much as £10 million to cancel the German’s contract, even though he’s owed around £18 million if he stays the course.
If United do manage to negotiate a way to sever ties with the midfielder, he’ll be able to join an MLS club for free and is said to be willing to take a pay cut to do so.

Elsewhere, Adnan Januzaj has revealed how he plans to not go down the same road as Schweinsteiger by winning over his manager Mourinho.
Januzaj is currently on loan at Sunderland after failing to impress the new boss, but he’s hoping for a reverse of fortunes very soon by proving just how good a player he is, per Belgian newspaper HLN Sport, via Stuart Mathieson of Manchester Evening News:
“I understand that I was no priority for Mourinho. I don’t have to talk, I have to perform. I don't have any time to waste I have to prove again that I am a worthy Manchester United player.”

Januzaj charged onto the scene back in 2013 under David Moyes, but he’s since slumped down the pecking order at Old Trafford and needs something special to work his way back in.
Manchester United are still working their way back to their best since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, and they need to invest in young talent to keep them ticking for years to come.
Januzaj has huge amounts of potential, and the fact he’s desperate to prove his worth is nothing but a good sign.
