Andrew GouldNov 12, 2016

Joel Embiid took an unconventional path to the NBA. During that journey, he toyed with stereotypes believed by his peers.

On Friday, he and Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown joined Adrian Wojnarowski for an interview on The Vertical Podcast with Woj. The Cameroon native discussed a number of things, such as his brother's death and the United States presidential election. (Embiid had already made his opinion clear on Donald Trump before elaborating on his concerns to Wojnarowski.)

Embiid also revealed that, while enrolled at Kansas, he tested everyone's preconceived notions of African life by telling a story about killing a lion as a child.
