Yaya Toure Reportedly Asks Agent to Apologise to Pep Guardiola
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is reportedly ready to end his exodus at the club. He reportedly requested that his agent Dimitri Seluk end his feud with Pep Guardiola by apologising to the manager.
Seluk has also confessed he is prepared to forge a "new relationship" with City boss Guardiola, although he added the Spaniard isn't returning his calls at present, per the Mirror's Simon Mullock:
"I have spoken to Yaya in the last few days and he has asked me to make the peace with Pep.
I agreed with him that I had to do what I could to make the situation better, because Yaya and Manchester City have been caught in the crossfire.
I am genuine in what I say.
Some City fans have contacted Yaya to say that a way forward must be found. And some of Yaya’s team-mates at City have also contacted me to say the same thing.

The bad blood between Seluk and Guardiola emerged after the latter left Toure out of his 25-man UEFA Champions League squad, resulting in a clash that would see both men refuse to step down in their debate.
Seluk went on to further the notion that he wishes to see his client back playing in the first team swiftly, and thus an apology seems the only route by which that result can come about:
"I am not an unreasonable man. I don’t think that Pep will ever love me, but the most important thing is that we try to forgive what has happened in the past and develop a new relationship.
This is a genuine gesture. I hope Pep accepts that my hope is that we can start with a clean page.
Of course, I hope Pep takes the decision to bring Yaya back into his squad. But even if he doesn’t, I can assure him that I am not going to speak about him any more in the media.
"
The Russian added his public message was sent out after Guardiola "hasn't returned" his calls and that his desire is to see Toure back helping the Citizens to "win more trophies."
Despite the impression that this argument depends upon the manager and the player's agent, Sky Sports Spanish football expert has said the future depends on the player instead:
Manchester City have been thriving in Toure's absence nonetheless and are currently top of the Premier League while keeping alive their UEFA Champions League hosts after beating Barcelona 3-1 on Tuesday.
One of the stars stepping up while Toure has spent time out of the squad is summer signing Ilkay Gundogan, and Jamie Redknapp wrote in a recent Daily Mail column that the German can fill that void:
"Ilkay Gundogan is looking more and more the man who can fill the void left by Yaya Toure in City’s midfield.
Toure may be surplus to requirements at City but he averaged 12 goals a season.
In Gundogan, it looks like Guardiola has someone with a similar goal threat who can take the pressure off Sergio Aguero. That’s four goals he has scored in two games now. He is a quality operator and didn’t even have a pre-season!
"
Regardless of his recent turmoils and a disappointing 2015-16 campaign, Toure is still the player who arrived at the Etihad Stadium in 2010 and has been critical in any of their most recent successes.
BBC Sport reporter Oluwashina Okeleji even teased the idea of a January transfer for Toure, who could have Seluk as an inhibitor despite the fact his job is to find the player greater career success:
Even with a public statement of his intention to sew things up with the City chief, Seluk may yet have a job on his hands in saying sorry to Guardiola if the tactician isn't taking his phone calls.
Toure will have fierce competition to win his place back in the team with the likes of Gundogan, Fernandinho and David Silva impressing around his position, but the 33-year-old may have a future at the Etihad.
