Brandon Ingram Out vs. Trail Blazers with Knee Injury
Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Ingram will miss Sunday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers due to patellar tendinitis, the team announced on Twitter.
Unfortunately for the rookie, this isn't the first time he's battled knee issues.
Ingram encountered an injury scare early in the season when he underwent an MRI while suffering from knee tendinitis, but the results of the exam came back clear.
Now 72 games into his first NBA season, the Duke product is averaging 9.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from three-point range.
While he hasn't played a terribly significant role to this point in the season, Ingram is a versatile scorer with the length and lateral quickness to defend shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards.
With Ingram banged up, look for David Nwaba, Nick Young and Corey Brewer to comprise the bulk of the Lakers' wing rotation after Luol Deng was reportedly shut down for the season, according to ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne.
