Cardinals Place Brown on Injured Reserve
Monday, Oct. 24
After confirming the nature of Brown's injury, Arians announced the 26-year-old would be placed on injured reserve, per the Cardinals' official Twitter account.
ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss reported on Oct. 18 that Brown left Arizona's Week 6 win against the New York Jets with a knee injury, noting Brown had a "slightly noticeable limp" in the locker room following the game. Brown downplayed the severity of the problem, and Arians was optimistic the injury wouldn't be a long-term problem.
"We'll have to wait and see," he said, per Weinfuss. "It appears it's not as serious as it looked."
Brown played Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks but featured for only one snap before leaving, according to Pro Football Focus.
While Brown isn't the most important member of Arizona's passing game, the Cardinals can ill afford to lose a veteran wideout given the problems they're experiencing. After averaging the second-most yards through the air one year ago (289 YPG), the team is 15th in passing offense (254 YPG) in 2016.
