With a little over a month remaining before the pay-per-view, the card is beginning to fill out. In addition to the three Survivor Series-style elimination matches, the rematch between Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar is a near certainty.
Paul Heyman called out Goldberg on Monday, and the former WCW champion tweeted he'll be at Raw next week.
Former WWE star Lance Storm is happy with the way Survivor Series is unfolding:
Rolling Stone's Kenny Herzog also likes that Survivor Series is returning more so to the format that made it one of WWE's biggest events:
Survivor Series has always featured at least one elimination tag match. In recent years, however, the match was largely an afterthought with the exception of the 2014 edition, when Team Cena wrestled Team Authority in the main event.
Since McMahon and Bryan proposed women's and tag team elimination matches, it's unlikely any titles will be defended at Survivor Series, which makes sense since Raw and SmackDown Live have their own branded PPVs now on which championships can be up for grabs.
A Raw vs. SmackDown Live clash is exactly what WWE needs to continue highlighting the battle between the two shows. In addition, enough time has passed since the WWE draft that bringing the Raw and SmackDown Live together won't undermine the ongoing brand extension.
