Other No Mercy Thoughts
SmackDown's first pay-per-view, Backlash, was middle-of-the-road at best, but it feels like the company has put a lot more effort into No Mercy.
Each feud has been well-executed, and a few of the bouts scheduled to take place could have the potential to be Match of the Year candidates.
Even with a stellar main event in Cena vs. Styles vs. Ambrose, the contest with the biggest possible impact on the roster is the Intercontinental Championship match between The Miz and Ziggler.
If The Showoff loses, he will be forced to retire from WWE. Even if the plan is to bring him back in a few months, losing a performer like Ziggler at such an important time for both brands would be disappointing.
Wyatt and Orton's feud has been a lot of fun to watch in recent weeks, but it all hinges on how WWE chooses to book the end of their battle.
Wyatt needs the win a lot more than Orton at this point in his career, even if he gets the victory by cheating or outside interference.
No Mercy isn't likely to be the best PPV of the year, but it should be a solid show with some great action, and that's all we can ask for out of a B-level show.
