Tyson Fury Reportedly Fails 2nd Drug Test: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

Alec NathanOct 5, 2016

Heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has reportedly failed a second drug test for cocaine, according to documents obtained Wednesday by ESPN.com's Dan Rafael

Both urine tests, which were conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, turned up positive results for benzoylecgonine, which is a "central compound found in cocaine and the marker for a positive test for the banned substance and illegal drug," per Rafael.

The report of Fury's second failed drug test comes on the heels of a Rolling Stone (warning: NSFW language) interview in which Fury revealed he has been heavily using cocaine since he left his training camp in Holland in May.

"From that day forward, I've never done any training," Fury said. "I've been out drinking, Monday to Friday to Sunday, and taking cocaine. I can't deal with it, and the only thing that helps me is when I get drunk out of me mind."

Fury also revealed his use of cocaine started "in the last few months" and that he's done "lots of it."

"Why shouldn't I take cocaine?" he said. "It's my life isn't it? I can do what I want. Yeah, I have done cocaine."

In the same interview, Fury divulged that he's not focused on a return to boxing because he's battling personal demons outside of the ring:

"

I've not been in a gym for months. I've not been training. I've been going through depression. I just don't want to live anymore, if you know what I’m saying. I've had total enough of it. They've forced me to the breaking edge. Never mind cocaine. I just didn't care. I don't want to live anymore. So cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore.

"

Fury was last in the ring 11 months ago when he nabbed a unanimous-decision victory over Wladimir Klitschko to become the heavyweight champion of the world, and the two were scheduled to square off in a rematch Oct. 29 before it was nixed in late September.

However, concerns regarding the cancellation of Fury's title defense are merely secondary to the personal problems he's battling.
