WWE Hell in a Cell 2016: Titles Most Likely to Change Hands at Event
Raw's next brand-exclusive pay-per-view will take place on Oct. 30 at WWE Hell in a Cell 2016.
At the time of writing, there is only one match scheduled to take place, and that is Roman Reigns' United States Championship match against Rusev.
However, expect all five of Raw's championships to be on the line at Hell in a Cell, opening up the possibility of several changing hands.
Here are the most likely belts to have new owners.
WWE United States Championship
It may be only a matter of days since Roman Reigns won the United States Championship at Clash of Champions, but there's every possibility the belt could pass around a few times in the next couple of months.
Having Rusev as the hunter rather than the reigning champion will add freshness to his feud with Reigns, but there's no reason why he can't reclaim the title at the PPV.
With the match set to take place inside Hell in a Cell, anything can happen. If the match is booked well enough, there's no reason why the winner and the loser should come out looking weak.
That means Rusev could easily win at Hell in a Cell, putting Reigns back into a role that suits him well—the man pursuing the championship.
However, although this could happen, there are two other championships that stand greater chances of changing hands.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
WWE's cruiserweight division is heating up, as is the race for T.J. Perkins' WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
Perkins' surprise defeat to Brian Kendrick on Raw this past Monday makes the champion look the most vulnerable he's been since winning the Cruiserweight Classic—and it opens up the possibility of him dropping the strap at Hell in a Cell.
Courtesy of that victory on Raw, Kendrick appears to be the most likely challenger for Perkins. But another good performance from Tony Nese in his victory against Rich Swann also makes him look like a strong, realistic challenger for Perkins.
Expect the Cruiserweight Championship to change hands frequently in order to elevate most, if not all, of the guys in that division.
Perkins coming up short at Hell in a Cell may only be the start of a number of frantic title changes.
WWE Universal Championship
Kevin Owens has looked relatively strong during his WWE Universal Championship reign, but that may change at Hell in a Cell.
Seth Rollins' babyface turn took another promising step forward on Raw this past Monday when he cut a great promo with Stephanie McMahon, as well as his sit-down promo with Michael Cole.
Costing Owens and Chris Jericho victory on Raw rounded off a great night for Rollins, and he looks to be in a strong position moving toward Hell in a Cell.
The mystery surrounding Triple H and his motives behind handing Owens the Universal Championship continue to remain unclear, and that could come into play at Hell in a Cell.
But it feels as if Rollins has done enough to claim Raw's biggest prize and keep his electrifying feud with Owens going for a good while.
