Schools to Watch After 4-Star ATH Christopher Henderson Decommitted from Miami
After being committed to in-state power Miami for nearly eight months, 4-star athlete Christopher Henderson has reopened his recruitment and backed off his pledge to the Hurricanes.
With nearly 25 offers under his belt, the 6’0”, 175-pounder out of Columbus High School in Miami has a handful of suitors who were actively recruiting him while he was committed.
Henderson, who rates as the nation’s No. 25 athlete and the No. 300 player overall in the 2017 cycle, could play a number of skill positions on either side of the ball at the next level. However, his home in college is likely at corner.
Which schools figure to play a major role in Henderson’s recruitment moving forward?

Auburn
Outside of Florida and Miami, no other programs have gotten Henderson on campus recently.
According to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, one school he plans to use one of his official visits on is SEC West power Auburn. The Tigers offered Henderson back in February.
According to Ourlads, the Tigers have three senior corners set to move on after this season.
That could provide an opportunity for a player such as Henderson to find the field early if he signs with Auburn. With a visit on deck, Auburn is a potential sleeper that could emerge into a serious player if his trip to the Plains goes well.
Florida
If there’s one campus Henderson is no stranger to, it’s the University of Florida.
As detailed by Scout’s Jacquie Franciulli, the Miami native will take in his second Gators home game of the season this weekend to see them take on LSU.
He’s also made a number of unofficial visits to Gainesville earlier in the year, according to Scout’s Corey Bender.
Florida’s coaching staff has been confident in their chances to land Henderson since the spring, as noted by Bender.
"One of the coaches is always like, 'there's an IHOP down the street to get a spatula' because they're expecting me to flip, but all of the other coaches are just comfortable with what I'm doing because they feel like I'll be a Gator," Henderson told Bender.
Considering his familiarity with the staff and the campus, Florida looks to be comfortably in the driver’s seat with Henderson as the final push in his recruitment begins.
Tennessee
While the date for his visit to Auburn has yet to be determined, Henderson is scheduled to visit Tennessee for next weekend’s showdown against Alabama, per Bartow.
The Volunteers offered Henderson back in April.
According to Andrew Ivins of 247Sports, the Vols have been one of the main programs pushing hard for his services.
"They are recruiting me just as hard and I want to see what they are all about,” Henderson told Ivins.
With a big-time atmosphere likely to be the setting for his visit, Tennessee is looking to make a strong first impression and make a move up his leaderboard in the process.
