Tyson Fury's Twitter Account Denies Retirement After NSFW Tweet

Tyson Fury appeared to announce his retirement from boxing on Monday in an expletive-laden tweet in which he slammed his sport and labelled himself "the greatest" before denying he had hung up his gloves.

The WBA and WBO heavyweight champion pulled out of his Oct. 29 rematch with Wladimir Klitschko citing mental health issues last week and originally hinted at walking away altogether (warning: NSFW language):

Per the Press Association (via the Guardian), ESPN reported on Friday that Fury, 28, had tested positive for cocaine from a urine sample given on Sept. 22.

As a result, speculation abounded that Fury could be stripped of his heavyweight titles, per Samuel Lovett on the Independent.

His uncle and trainer, Peter Fury, responded to the allegations with his own Twitter outburst, via Sky Sports' Peter Gilbert:

Fury sent shockwaves through the boxing world last November when he inflicted Klitschko's first defeat in over a decade to claim the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight titles and take his professional record to 25-0.

A rematch between the self-proclaimed Gypsy King and the 40-year-old Ukrainian was initially scheduled for July 9 at the Manchester Arena, but Fury pulled out in June citing an ankle injury.

Per BBC Sport's Ben Dirs, his second withdrawal last month prompted boxing promoter Eddie Hearn to predict Fury would never fight again.
