McCluster Comments on Injury
Monday, Nov. 7
"'I had surgery on it last year,' McCluster said of his radial bone," per Gehlken, who provided more:
"I was looking for my phone at the house, and my wife, she packed a bag. She came down from Tennessee. So when I moved (the suitcase), I yanked it, and I didn’t realize there was something in there. I felt a sharp pain in my wrist. … I yanked it out of the way, and luck of the draw.
It was horrible. I saw my fingers turn blue and purple, so I called (athletic trainer James Collins), and we got some pictures of it. A fracture. It happens. Life is random, man. Just stay positive and keep going.

McCluster Placed on NFI List
Saturday, Nov. 5
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chargers placed McCluster on the non-football injury list after he broke his forearm in an accident at his house.
Chargers Were Hoping McCluster Would Replace Woodhead
The Chargers signed McCluster on Sept. 20 after Danny Woodhead was diagnosed with a season-ending ACL tear. He projected as an immediate contributor in the passing game after he spent time with offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt during their respective stints with the Tennessee Titans.
Since then, he hasn't been a big factor, with three carries for two yards and no touchdowns while catching seven passes for 36 yards.
Given the injuries the Chargers have incurred at running back so far, losing McCluster for the season puts even more pressure on Melvin Gordon to carry the load.
Gordon will continue to operate as San Diego's bell cow with McCluster hurt. It's a role he's taken to with solid results this season, with 768 yards and nine touchdowns after Week 9. He's also become a better threat in the passing game with 28 receptions, so the Chargers offense won't suffer much with McCluster out for the year.
