Quincy Enunwa to Miss Minicamp with Neck Injury; Should Return for Training Camp

Joseph ZuckerJun 13, 2017

The New York Jets announced Tuesday wide receiver Quincy Enunwa will miss the team's minicamp with a neck injury.

The team added Enunwa should be healthy enough to participate in training camp at the end of July.

The Jets selected Enunwa in the sixth round of the 2014 draft, and he played in one game during his rookie season. He took on a slightly larger role in his second year, catching 22 passes for 315 yards in 12 appearances.

The 25-year-old had a bright start to the 2016 season, registering seven receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown in a Week 1 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals. He finished with 58 receptions for 857 yards and four touchdowns.

After the team released Eric Decker on Monday, the Jets likely expect Enunwa to play an even bigger role in the offense in 2017. As long as his neck injury doesn't continue lingering throughout the summer, it shouldn't be a major problem as he approaches his fourth year in the NFL.
