Arsenal Transfer News: Jack Wilshere Made Available for Loan Before Deadline Day
Arsenal are ready to loan Jack Wilshere out for the 2016-17 campaign, as the midfielder continues his search for regular first-team football, and Italian giants AS Roma are among the interested suitors.
Sky Sports News HQ reported the news on Monday with a little more than two days remaining in the transfer window, and word of the move came just after England manager Sam Allardyce explained his reason for leaving the player out of his squad:
"Jack just hasn't had enough game time. Hopefully he will get that in the future at Arsenal.
If Jack Wilshere was playing every week for Arsenal he would be in the squad, but unfortunately he isn't. It is game time for him and it has been few and far between because he has had too many injuries unfortunately.

The Telegraph's Matt Law reported Roma want to take Wilshere on a season-long loan deal, but they would require the Gunners to subsidise a percentage of the player's salary at the Stadio Olimpico.
Former Tottenham Hotspur director of football Franco Baldini now works for the Giallorossi as a transfer consultant, and he knows Wilshere from his time serving as assistant to former England boss Fabio Capello.
Commentator Adam Summerton has stated the Arsenal midfielder would be a fine fit in Serie A:
The Gunners are now in a race against the clock to find a suitable destination for their playmaker, one where he'll not only be able to get the playing time he needs but prove himself as a valuable Arsenal asset once more.
The Mirror's John Cross acknowledged the north Londoners haven't left themselves a lot of time to finalise a transfer but noted it's ultimately for the greater good:
The competition for a place in midfield at the Emirates Stadium is high, with summer arrival Granit Xhaxa joining the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny in the hunt to start.
Wilshere played just twice for Arsenal during the 2015-16 season and missed 10 months after breaking his fibula in pre-season, the second time in his career he's been sidelined for an entire campaign.
Since turning professional in 2008, the 24-year-old has managed 30 appearances or more in just three of his eight seasons as a senior player and broken the 40-game mark in only one of those.
Blogger Liam Canning argued a move to Spain could suit the midfielder, who has spent his entire career in north London, save for a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers in 2010:
That temporary switch proved to be a breakthrough moment in Wilshere's career, however, and he'll hope another loan spell away from his parent club may be the jolt he needs to rejuvenate his reputation.
The England international has proved himself to be a valuable resource when fully fit, but that's something upon which manager Arsene Wenger has no guarantees.
Arsenal may prefer to keep their star in the Premier League, a move which would make it easier to keep tabs on his progress, but a term outside the English top flight could also bring benefits.
The Gunners are now under pressure to find a new home for their man before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday night.
