Jeff Teague to Undergo X-Rays for Wrist Injury Suffered in Pacers vs. Cavaliers
Indiana Pacers point guard Jeff Teague suffered a wrist injury during Monday's 117-111 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the teams' playoff series.
According to Tom Withers of the Associated Press, Pacers head coach Nate McMillan said the guard would undergo X-rays on the wrist after falling during Monday's contest.
Teague joined the Pacers via an offseason trade with the Atlanta Hawks. He averaged 15.3 points and 7.8 assists during the regular season, which was on par with his career stats from a scoring standpoint but a major uptick in assists.
Atlanta moved Teague as part of a three-way deal that also sent George Hill to the Utah Jazz. Dennis Schroder, Teague's former backup in Atlanta, has been installed as the point guard of the present and future.
The trade to the Pacers was the realization of a childhood dream for Teague, who grew up in Indianapolis.
"I always wanted to play for the Pacers," he said in July, per Nate Taylor of the Indianapolis Star. "To have an opportunity like this is big for me. I'm trying to make the most of this year and, hopefully, be here a long time."
Aaron Brooks should get the chance to run the point if Teague is out.
